New Year, New Look Collection : Kitsch, Cute and Vintage Styling

The blog 'Look What I Got!' is running a giveaway themed around 'New Year, New Look' to celebrate the second birthday of FBL! For those who are unfamiliar, this is a very welcoming community for Fashion, Beauty and Lifestyle Bloggers who have a facebook group and also run a very helpful Twitter chat every Tuesday from 8-9pm GMT at the hashtag #fblchat.

So, this post is going to be a roundup up of my own personal wishlist from the new season at New Look. I do a fair amount of my shopping at New Look when i'm not buying from charity shops and thrift stores, and I think they give really good value for money. Read more to see my personal favourite picks of their brand new clothes, accessories and shoes:

Floral Print Slip Dress, £22.99

This dress is so pretty and I think it could be dressed up or down really easily depending on the situation. Having two layers stops it from being too see-through while the loose fit and flowing fabric give it a soft, romantic feel.
White and Grey 2 in 1 Check Dress, £19.99
I'm getting serious Clueless vibes from this dress! It's cute, it's easy to wear and perfect for throwing on in a rush with tights and combat boots on cold March mornings when you're late for work. Genuinely coveting this look already.

Light Blue Check Sleeveless Skater Dress, £19.99
Have you sensed my deep love of plaid yet? I watch too much Supernatural, it's an issue. Still, this dress is very vintage in style and demure enough to be classy without feeling dowdy. I would put it with a big thrifted pearl necklace and some light coloured tights and shoes.

Stone Patent Panel Winged Satchel, £24.99

The life of an English student can be quite hard on bags, with a standard trip to and from the library easily requiring 5+ very heavy books crammed into whatever bag i'm using that day. This bag looks sturdy enough to deal with that, and also neutral enough to go with literally any outfit. I think I definitely might have to invest in one of these.

Black Daisy Print Lace Up Flatform Trainers, £14.99

Just as soon as it stops raining outside and I can take off the various pairs of heavy duty leather boots that I've been wearing for about two months now, I'll be heading out for a pair of these lovelies. They're cute, they're kitsch, and they'll make my teeny height of 4' 11" just a tad bit taller. What's not to love?

Gold Pearl Flower Stretch Bracelet, £6.99

I have to admit, I'm not usually a big fan of gold jewelry but I really like this. It reminds me a lot of a bracelet I used to have as a kid that I bought from Rome on a holiday, and so it's kind of a nostalgic choice. It's very vintage looking and not too sparkly (which is a good thing for some people of course, but tends to put me off costume jewellery). I'm hoping to acquire a few of these types of pieces this year, since accessorizing in general is something I shy away from and I want to try and push myself to incorporate more into my looks.

I hope you enjoyed my picks! All of these pieces and the rest of New Look's new collection is available now and can be viewed online here. Hope you're all having a great day, wherever you are! If you have any thoughts on my picks or the new collection in general, let me know below!
